The Beverly Hills Hotel opened on May 12, 1912 and was designed by architect Elmer Grey. Pre-existing the paving of Sunset Blvd and the incorporation of the city of Beverly Hills, the hotel has been an icon since the very start. Originally, it was deemed to be an unusually large hotel, costing a whopping $300K to build. It's initial proprietors were Margaret Anderson and her son Stanley.
