The space is one of the largest non-hotel ballrooms in Southern California, making it the perfect setting for schools seeking a large prom venue.

We have one of the largest ballrooms in Southern California, with the ability to hold up to 900 standing in a 6700 sq ft space. Multiple foyers and rooms allow for installations, photo booths, and activities in different settings. Our downstairs Parlor is the perfect place for a game room or a lounge setting with a jazz band and mocktails. Built in 1913 by renowned architect Elmer Grey, the building features Renaissance Revival architecture, adding a layer of timeless elegance to your prom. As you dance the night away, the 30-foot high coffered ceilings and historic decor serve as a backdrop that's both captivating and Instagram-worthy.

The catering will be dialed to suit a high school palate and can bring exciting elements with signature mocktails, food stations with handing pretzels and dipping cheeses, or the always exciting flaming donut station or build your own s'mores.

Located in downtown Long Beach, 440 Elm is easily accessible via multiple modes of transportation. Its prime location near hotels and restaurants adds an extra layer of convenience for students and chaperones, who may want to extend the festivities or have a pre-prom dinner nearby. We are located on a private gated facility that allows for buses to pull up to a private event space that substantially improves safety via a closed circuit security system and access controls that won't have guests from other events onsite to potentially create security challenges.
